Expert Profile


Syakir Amir Bin Ab. Rahman obtained his Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 2009, MSc. Real Estate from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2011, and PhD. in Built Environment from IIUM in 2016. He joined IIUM as a Kulliyyah member of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning in 2016.
righttop00His research interests are urban and regional planning; and tourism planning and development. He has been invited as keynote speaker and presenter in numerous conferences local and overseas, and has published numerous internationally-refereed journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Syakir Amir is a registered graduate member of Malaysian Institute of Planner (MIP) and active undertakes research and consultancy for government and private agencies.
Presently Dr. Syakir Amir is a Head of Department of Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design since January 2017.
