Marini Othman obtained her BSc (Hon) and MSc from the University of Malaya in Computer Networking. She briefly worked in the industry before joining IIUM in 2003. She was the Postgraduate Coordinator at the Department of Information Systems, Kulliyyah of Information and Communication Technology (KICT), IIUM. Later in 2009, she furthered her studies in the same university. Her Ph.D work involved multi-disciplinary research that requires the understanding of cognitive sciences, developmental psychology, neurosciences and machine learning.
