OFFICE OF THE LEGAL ADVISER

As the Legal Adviser to the University (Article 35 of Constitution);

Managing the discipline of staff and students, and as a central place for clearance of compoundable offences;

As Secretariat for the Disciplinary Authority (staff and students);

Liaising between the University and external lawyers for litigation cases;

Drafting and vetting legal documents involving the University;

Assisting in the drafting, vetting and amending of IIUM Constitution;

Managing debt recovery;

Managing breach of contract i.e. scholarship agreement, premature notice of resignation, overpayment of salary / allowances etc;

Managing integrity matters of the University;

Legal transactions relating to land matters such as transfer leases and tenancies.
