Philosophy

It is hoped that the pharmacy program that is established will be able to produce graduates with adequate knowledge and skills in handling all problems related to drugs and their usage.

Objectives

1. To have a good foundation in the Basic Medical Sciences subjects (Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathlogy, Microbiology, Parasitology and Pharmacology), and hence be able to describe thestructure and functions of the various organ systems in the body.
2. Be able to understand the pathophysiology, basic pathology and appreciate the clinical features of the common/important diseases of the various systems (cardiovascular, respiratory, alimentary, hepatobiliary, endocrine, reproductive, renal, musculoskeletal and central nervous system).
3. Understand the principles of basic laboratory investigations that are usually performed when investigating common/ important disease.
4. To appreciate the etiology of diseases and pharmacotherapeutic approach that is proposed to treat it.
5. To develop critical reasoning and thinking skills.
