There is a need for CCSC to organize a special program for first year first semester students as a preparation for them to venture into university with career readiness and career aspiration to start off their university life. This kind of program is known as Starting School Program by other universities in Malaysia.

Basically the programme becomes a platform for students to be exposed with current job market, to identify their career decision making and personality through Student Career Profiling (SCP), to prepare themselves before hunting their ideal career in competitive job market.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To empower students' readiness to embark in their study life as university students.
  2. To aspire new intake students with success stories of IIUM alumni
  3. To share latest job market, job opportunities, scholarships and alternatives to be employed effectively which indirectly will help them in deciding their future career.
  4. To connect future graduates with potential employers.
  5. To implement Student Career Profiling (SCP) which can identify students' personality, career interest, career aspiration, and career decision making self-efficacy.
  6. To share important message from the university so that IIUM students will achieve the noble vision and mission of IIUM.

IIUM Campus interview is one of career structured programmes introduced by the CCSC. The programme will call graduating students/graduates to aprticipate for walk in interview with potential companies as to secure permanent position.

This programme is limited to IIUM students and graduates only.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To secure job placement after graduation.
  2. To give exposure on job hunting procedures particularly attending job interview.
  3. To enhance IIUM graduate employability.
  4. To utilize space and facilities.
  5. To uphold better branding as an effective career centre in Malaysia.


IIUM Career Fair is the most anticipated on campus recruitment event that gathers local and international employers across industries and its represents as the best avenue to meet with top global companies. It is two days event where a number of employers and job seekers come together for the purpose of recruiting and hunting for jobs.


OBJECTIVES

  1. To deliver career exhibition that promotes employment opportunities in various industries.
  2. To provide an ideal platform and environment for employers to meet IIUM students graduates and job seekers as their employers and interns.
  3. To enhance career awareness as well as skills and capabilities development among students by enabling them to wisely plan for their future career path.
  4. To build strong relationship and powerful industrial network with participating companies.

Career Coffee Chat is a new programme under COunseling & Career Services Centre of IIUM which targeted final year students. Basically, we build platform for the IIUM students to engage with the expert before hunting their ideal career in competitive job market. This coaching will take about one to two hours and will continue through online coaching platform.

The program aims to provide a real career picture for the graduates by addressing the real-life issues shared by invited speakers who are practitioner in specific fields such as project engineer, banking, sales and marketing, goverment servants, lawyers, and others.

  2. To build connection between the experts and students.
  3. To empower graduate job hunting strategies.
  4. To enhance career information and career awareness among students.

This Career Visit is intended to support the holistic students' development through career exposure which could facilitate future employment of IIUM graduates. Career Visit to selected places in Klang valley aims to uncover students to the reality of the industry which eventually benefits both parties; university and company.

  1. To receive direct information and ideas from industries.
  2. To open new prespectives about current job market, current technologies, and latest issues.
  3. To inspire students to take initiative in job hunting strategies and basically to facilitate their dilemmas in career decision making.
  4. To establish positive networking between university and industries which eventually develop new posibilities that could benefit IIUM graduate employability.


Teh Tarik Session with a high position person is intended to exchange ideas and experties which eventually benefits both parties; unviversity and company.

In order boost graduate employability  of IIUM students, this program are held every semester to equip graduating students with job hunting strategies, and expose them to trends in the current job market.

Objectives

  1. To empower graduates' job hunting strategies that cover resume writing, grooming, and interview skills.
  2. To give students a clear picture on tracer study and in ways it gives impact to the university.
  3. To share latest job opportunities, management trainee programmes and alternatives to be employed effectively.
  4. To connect future graduates with potential employers.
  5. To give final message from University so that IIUM graduates will achieve the noble vision and mission of IIUM.
