Administration Unit:

The Administration Unit is responsible on the daily operation of Research Management Centre which include customer service, human resource management, facilities and services management among others.

• Administration
• Processing appointment of Post- Doctoral Fellow
• Corporate Matters, Senate/BOG
• Strategic Planning for RMC: BSC, KRA, KPI, quality
• Secretariat to the University Research Committee
• Financial Management

Core Functions:

• Disseminating information on grant opportunities
• Administering grant applications
• Grant facilitation for national grants, international grants and research matching grant scheme
• Review of research grant proposals
• Selection and Training of evaluators
• Research Networking
• Research Workshops and Training
• Processing MoA / MoU related to research projects

The core functions of REU are:

1. Strategic planning for IIUM’s excellence in research.

2. Secretariat for Malaysia Research Assessment (MyRA)

• Coordination of data collection
• Verification of Data
• Handling of MYRA Internal and External Audits
• Submission of Data to MOHE

3. Planning for MyRA System enhancements through MyRepository

4. Monitoring of Research Clusters and Units

5. Selection of candidates for IIUM Research Awards

6. Process applications for Post Doctoral Fellows

7. Manages applications for Higher Institution Centre of Excellence (HiCOE) and Research Excellence Cluster (Konsortium Kecemerlangan Penyelidikan)

8. Promotion of IIUM Research activities on IIUM Facebook page. 

9. Promotion of excellent IIUM Researchers in  Asia Research News

2.Grant Management Unit

• Monitoring of grants performance 
• Monitoring submission of progress report and End of Project Report
• Processing Traveling Application utilizing research grants

3. IIUM Research Ethics Committee (IREC) & IIUM Animal Care & Use Committee (I-ACUC)

• Matters related to research ethics (IREC- Human & I-ACUC -Animal)
