INTEGRATED CENTRE FOR RESEARCH ANIMAL CARE AND USE

The IIUM Animal Care and Use Committee (I-ACUC) oversees all aspects of IIUM animal care and use programs for teaching and research. I-ACUC Members are appointed by the Rector of IIUM. The I-ACUC reviews all animal use protocols, ensures compliance with federal regulations, inspects animal facilities and laboratories and oversees training and educational programs. The I-ACUC serves as a resource to faculty, investigators, technicians, students, staff, and administrators and provides guidance for conducting all animal use procedures with the highest scientific, humane, and ethical principles. The I-ACUC is composed of a chair, a veterinarian, research scientists, non-scientists, and community representatives.
