Admission and Records Unit



In collaboration with the kulliyyahs and academic centers creates an administrative environment that is conducive to efficient and effective interaction between postgraduate students and the university.

Its admission policies and selection criteria have been enhanced to facilitate the recruitment of high quality students.The unit believes in equal opportunities and admits students purely on merit. While screening application,it places importance on the applicant’s potential to achieve academic success in the desired programme of study.Therefore, selection is based on the applicant’s academic record as well as relevant personal traits.

Responsible in monitoring the registration exercise as well as the secretariat for the University Committee for Postgraduate Studies (UCPS) meeting. The Unit is also responsible in carrying out the process of maintaing the candidature of the students as well as the population of the postgraduate students in IIUM

The Examination Unit


Responsible in examination related matters such as  producing examination time-table, conducting final examinations, production of transcripts, completion letter as well as scrolls for graduated students. Examination unit assists graduated students upon convocation matters and involves in preparing or compiling academic matters to be endorsed in the Senate Meeting (SM).

VIVA-Voce Unit


Viva Unit also in charge of the PhD Viva Voce which includes highest level examining body which assesses the research work of a doctoral candidate and determines the level of a research work that has been written by the IIUM's PhD candidates.

Student Affairs Unit


Deals with matters particularly related to postgraduate student’s academic lives. It organizes various activities and workshops on academic and co curricular activities. PCSU promotes students assistant ship and conferences for local and international. The Unit also guides and supports the Postgraduate Students Society (PGSS) on its various activities.

The Unit promotes the University’s postgraduate programmes by participating in exhibitions on postgraduate programmes, publishing the University’s postgraduate prospectus, pamphlets, brochures and posters of the Centre for Postgraduate Studies.
