E- COMMERCE KICK START

BUSINESS CAPACITY BUILDING

Organizer       : Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) IIUM Gombak

 

Business Capacity Building (BCB) was held in conjunction with the Entrepreneurship Carnival 2020 organized by EDC Gombak. IIUM Kuantan campus under EDC Kuantan was onoured to co-organize 3 business talk series on 23rd October, 30th October and 6th November 2020. The series were conducted online and had been participated from all Kulliyyahs from Kuantan Campus with total participants of 300 students. The series were conducted by Dr Mohd Armi Abu Samah to cover the talks on Introduction to Entrepreneurship and Steps on How to Start Business. While, Dr Ahmad Fahmi Harun Ismail covered the talks on Digital Online Business and Copywriting. The series were continued with the sessions from Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MAGIC) from Cyberjaya called SPARK. SPARK is a movement to create citizens of the future by altering attitudes, shifting mindsets and equipping the youth of Malaysia with first-world thinking to have the necessary skill sets for IR4.0. The half-day event has successfully educate the youth to view problems as opportunities while injecting the spirit of innovation collectively through knowledge sharing sessions and various creative activities

VENTUROUS DAREPRENEUR

This program has accomplished the aims for introducing a real business management for IIUM Kuantan Campus students. This program provides them with basic core knowledge in business by using business model canvas start-up template for students to understand a business model in a straightforward and structured way.

Thus, this project aims is to be a platform and training for student by learning entrepreneurship knowledge, skills and training. These will aids students from all socioeconomic backgrounds to critically think and nurture unconventional talents and skills. It creates opportunities, ensures social justice, builds confidence and stimulates the economy.





REDONE ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAMME

This collaborations aims to provide business opportunity to with IIUM Kuantan Campus students with redone Entrepreneur Programme and also to provide redone services to with IIUM Kuantan Campus students and staff.  By that, RedOne also provide mobile telecommunications service to IIUM Kuantan Campus students and also staffs.






ENTREPRENEURSHIP FESTIVAL 2020

Entrepreneurship Development Centre IIUM Kuantan Campus, Entrepreneurs Festival 2020 targets to capture the students who have the intention to run a business, but they are not clear on how to make it happens.  The final years students who are graduating are among the target groups for this programme.  Exposing them with the entrepreneurial ideas and opportunities, we are hoping that these students are set for their future undertaking regardless the unemployment crisis faced by our youths nowadays.

 

This festival is mainly to celebrate and appreciate those who have been contributing to the IIUM Kuantan community including the students in the form of providing business opportunities and services. It is believed that by having this festival, not only more young entrepreneurs will be emerged but also the ones who are running the show will have a better business networking and ideas. As always, EDC will always provide the platform for students to learn about business and create more opportunities, build confidence and ultimately stimulate the economic growth of the country as these students would be job creators instead of job seekers, thus reducing the number of unemployment among graduates.






FOOD HANDLING COURSE

Date/Day        : 07th December 2019

Venue             : Politeknik Metro Kuantan

This programme provided the participants with understanding proper food handling practices is crucial within the food and beverage industry. The participants also learned the systems and procedures necessary to maintain a top quality food business. As required by the Ministry of Health Malaysia, all food handlers must attend food handler course conducted by a Food Handlers Training School that is approved and recognized by the Ministry of Health Malaysia.

 

The objective are achieved by fulfil the rule and regulation of Ministry of Health / Local Council whereby all food handlers should undergo Food Handlers Training conducted by an approved Food Handlers Training School, recognized by The Ministry of Health and create basic food hygiene culture through a positive knowledge, attitude and practice. 






PRUDENTIAL FORUM KERJAYA: PENGANGGURAN MAHASISWA, SOLUSI?

A programme conducted by representatives from Prudential under the title of “Forum Kerjaya: Pengangguran Mahasiswa, Solusi?” was held on 6th November 2019 from 8.30 -10.30 pm at one of the Wadi Budi’s classrooms. The event attended by more than 35 students mainly from Kulliyyah of Sciences was chaired and moderated by Tuan Haji Ahmad Faris, the agency manager. The speakers were from various background i.e. fresh graduate (Mr. Fawwaz Imran), ex-government officer (Tuan Haji Abdul Shahid) and a medical doctor (Dr. Mujahhid).

Although the forum discussed more on how generate money by utilizing the platforms provided by Prudential, in general the input delivered in the forum covered mostly the dilemma of the students and freshly graduates in looking for jobs. The students were exposed with the real situations and sharing experiences from medical doctor and fresh graduate on how the challenges in seeking for jobs are getting more intense. Prudential is looking forward to have more sessions with the students in the future and expecting to have more collaborations with IIUM Kuantan Campus to provide benefits especially in term of entrepreneurial knowledge to the students in general.






SEMINAR ON ESTABLISHING KOSISWA IIUM KUANTAN

This seminar has achieved its aims to familiarize the participants with the rules, regulations and steps required to establish KOSISWA in IIUM Kuantan Campus. The seminar has provided the participants with basic core knowledge in starting up with the presence of KOSISWA speakers from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) and DRB-HICOM University have been identified to facilitate the participants in achieving the main objective of the seminar, which is to establish KOSISWA at IIUM Kuantan Campus.

 

As the main aim of KOSISWA is to train the students in entrepreneurship and to provide the platform for students to learn about business, it is believed that it will create more opportunities, build confidence and ultimately stimulate the economic growth of the country as these students would be job creators instead of job seekers, thus reducing the number of unemployment among graduates.









ENTREPRENEURSHIP CHALLENGES

This program has successfully aims at introducing a real business management for IIUM Kuantan Campus students. This program provides them with basic core knowledge in business by using business model canvas start-up template for students to understand a business model in a straightforward and structured way. Thus, it helps students to start and manage their own business. The project also targets on developing creative thinking for students in IIUM Kuantan Campus on business by exposing marketing strategy at tourist attraction places.

 

Therefore, this program was held at Cameron Highland as the students has been given an opportunity to observe and interview a few successful business people there. They also need to present the business plan and recommendation for improvement on that particular business. Thus, this project is aiming as a platform and training for student by learning entrepreneurship knowledge, skills and training. These will aids students from all socioeconomic backgrounds to critically think and nurture unconventional talents and skills. It creates opportunities, ensures social justice, builds confidence and stimulates the economy.











STUDENT SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY CHALLENGE (SSRC)

The Social Students Responsibility Challenge program is a program that organised by Enactus of Universiti Malaysia Terengganu in collaboration of Career, Entrepreneurship and Skills Festival 2019 or known as CESF’ 2019. This program aims to be one of the platform for the students from all the universities and colleges in Malaysia in order to share the best and innovative ideas on business and directly help the community to improve the standard of living. Other than that, this program also aims on gaining knowledge about entrepreneurship and thus attracts the students’ interest to be a successful entrepreneurs.







 

REAL BUSINESS CHALLENGE JCAP COHORT II

The Real Business Challenge is basically the continuation of Job Creator Accelerated Programme (JCAP). JCAP programme enables participants to be assisted through an integration approach with guidance including strengthening their business, building capacity and capability, and facilitating access to business growth. Participants has diligently receive business and technical advisory services, aimed at enhancing their business potential in campus.

 

Through Real Business Challenge Cohort II 2019, the participants has clearly demonstrated their interest in having a business as a career option. This programme is also designated to promote entrepreneurship ideas, entrepreneurial activities, and to celebrate the IIUM young entrepreneurs who have the courage to take smart risks in business and enriching their lives with the results of their efforts.












THE YOUNG CALIPHS

Organizer       : The 7 ONE-THER team in collaboration with EDC IIUM Kuantan Campus and Masjid SHAS UIAM Kuantan

 

The Young Caliph project aims at creating a job platform for the needy students ‘anak angkat Masjid’ who receive free food from MASJID SHAS UIAM Kuantan. They are facing with daily expenses constrain, thus this program will provide solution by giving them earnings after being facilitator of program. The project also targets on developing creative thinking and fine motor skills to preschool stage children aged from 4 to 6 years old by sensory play. Activities in this program used handy and easy items that available at home. Thus, this initiated their long-term learning and developing fine motor skills.

 

This project has productively accomplished it target as a job creator for needy students with financial burden together with helping preschool aged children to enhance their thinking and fine motor skill development. This program has also promoted IIUM Kuantan as a health-based campus among society.






 

ENTREPRENEURSHIP CARNIVAL “REAL BUSINESS CHALLENGE 2018

The real business challenge is actually the continuation of Job Creator Accelerated Programme (JCAP). JCAP programme enables participants to be assisted through an integration approach with guidance including strengthening their business, building capacity and capability, and facilitating access to business growth. Participants will receive business and technical advisory services, aimed at enhancing their business potential in campus.

 

The objectives of this programme are to enhance job creator mind-set among students, to establish and promote the linkages between the university, Industry stakeholders and requisite partners in youth entrepreneurship, and to appreciate the effort of young entrepreneurs in their pursuit to become successful entrepreneurs.












BUSINESS USRAH : EMPOWERING YOUTH ENTREPRENEUR (EYE)

Organiser                     : Entrepreneurship Bureau Nursing Students’ Society (NurSS)

 

The invited speaker for this programme is Mr. Azwan Affandi bin Md. Jahaya, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Golden Crousel Sdn Bhd. He also served as CEO for Eden Hafiz Montessori PLT, Azwan Dot Com, Future Dot Com and Vice Chairman for “Koperasi Siswa UMP Berhad”. Golden Carousel Sdn Bhd is a company that supply telecommunications accessories, IT equipment and printing products for UMP and 80 community colleges in Malaysia.

 

The objectives of the programme had been achieved. The objective is to encourage IIUM community to gain knowledge of entrepreneurship as preparation for the future employment. Not only that, this programme gave an early exposure to JCAP on how to become a successful entrepreneur through EYE event. Last but not least, this programme gave opportunities to JCAP participants to sharpen their entrepreneurship skills.





ISLAMIC BUSINESS TOURISM

The goal of this activity is to expose members of Entrepreneurship Club and as well as students of IIUM the reality of business from the tourism scope. Thus, they can implement the knowledge to initiate a tourism business in our university.

It also has a specific objective which is to help members adapting and surviving themselves in the globalization era which aiming tourism as one of the country generating income.

 

In realizing the significance of achieving these objectives, Entrepreneurship Club wishes to proceed with this idea with the hope to give exposure to IIUM community. It is hoped that this program is beneficial to develop young entrepreneurs from this university.










BUSINESS USRAH: YOUNG PROFESIONAL ENTREPRENEUR (YoPE) 2018

The program has achieved its objectives which are to encourage IIUM Community to gain knowledge of entrepreneurship as preparation for the future and to alert IIUM Community on importance of entrepreneurship in improving the economy.

The invited speaker for this programme is Dr. Hannan Mohamad Yusof, Founder Hannan Medispa. 66 IIUM Kuantan students participated in this programme. The advisor of this programme is Asst. Prof. Dr. Wan Fathin Fariza binti Wan Mahmood.

The programme has achieved its objectives which are to encourage IIUM Community to gain knowledge of entrepreneurship as preparation for the future and to alert community on importance of entrepreneurship in improving the economy. This programme supported by lecturers and students of Kulliyyah of Allied Health Sciences.

Ecommerce Digital Training of Trainers Course is and advanced course for selected lecturers who have high commitment in the eUsahawan program. The course aims to increase the knowledge of lecturers to ensure that their skills and knowledge on this digital entrepreneurship remain relevant.

 

The program has achieved its objectives which are to develop and set up a new platform for lecturers to become a professional business coach to their students as well as to provide knowledge regarding digital entrepreneurial techniques for effective business marketing.

WORKSHOP MALAYSIA DIGITAL ECONOMY CORPORATION

(MDEC) PROGRAM COMPETENCY

This program aims to equip staff with digital entrepreneurial coaching capabilities to enable them to help students who are interested in business. The impact of this programme is, staffs will learn the necessary techniques for digital entrepreneurship such as Instagram, webpage, facebook, and twitter.

 

This programme was a collaboration with MDEC which offer entrepreneurship elements embedded in their courses. 60 IIUM staffs has participated in this programme. They will be trained by MDEC and a number of them will be selected to be Job Creator Accelerated Programme’s (JCAP) business advisors.
