FAQ
How do I apply for an admission and when is the closing date?
To apply for an admission, please register for an online application account via http://eadmission.iium.edu.my/index.php/student/eas_login
Applications are considered on a rolling basis until each intakes deadline. Any application received after the deadline will be processed for the next intake.
What is the recommendation letter?
Recommendation letter can be provided by someone who knows you personally and academically; however, this is optional.
What are the major and minor programmes?
Info on major or minor are provided by the Kulliyyah that you wish to apply for. So browse our website for the relevant Kulliyyah and contact them directly.
How long is the duration of study for studies a programme?
Our degree consists of 4 years’ period except for Medicine and Dentistry programmes which require 5 years.
Master programme is 2 years and Phd programme is 3 years.
What is the minimum requirement?
We accept Advanced Level (A level) result only with a minimum of 3 subjects or any other HSC results. Advanced Subsidiary and Ordinary Level (O level) results are not acceptable for application into undergraduate programmes.
Postgraduate requires minimun a of CGPA 2.75.
I have made an online application; how can I check the status of my application?

I have checked my online application status, however it mentioned “Evaluation process”, what does it mean?
It means your application is received and ready to process. If there is no issue, it will be discussed in the nearest Admissions Committee meeting. You can check your result within 14 working days (if there is no cancellation of meeting) by logging in to your online application account.
How do I know if I am offered?
You will receive an automated notification email and you may login to your online application account to check your offer letter for admission to the IIUM undergraduate/postgraduate programme.
Is there any age limit to apply for Undergraduate programmes? What about application to Postgraduate studies?
According to the Malaysia Immigration department, a student must not exceed the age of 21 years old to be offered for undergraduate programmes, and there is no age limit for postgraduate programmes.
What is the requirement for IELTS?
Our current exemption requirement for English is 6.0 for IELTS. However, the IELTS result validity must be within 2 years only.
Do you need IELTS or TOEFL to apply for admission? Is it compulsory?
The English requirement of TOEFL or IELTS is not compulsory. You may be exempted for the English course if you obtained a minimum B in English Language in your IGCSE (O level), subject to decision from our Centre for Language and Pre-University Academic Development (CELPAD.
What is English Proficiency Test (EPT)?
The English Proficiency Test (EPT) must be taken by those offered without TOEFL or IELTS that meets the requirement for exemption of English courses.
What is a processing fee?
Processing fee is a sum (USD$100) of payment to be paid (non-refundable) for processing the application.
What is a financial statement? Is it compulsory?
The financial statement or guarantee letter is to be provided by your sponsor such as your parents / relatives by providing bank statement and such, however this is optional.

No. A new offer letter reflecting the new start date of Semester 3 2019/2020 will be sent to you.
We advise that you do not make travel arrangements yet until the global situation has stabilized.
