Special Plate Number to make IIUM more visible

GOMBAK, 12 October 2020: IIUM Special Plate Number was soft launched recently, an initiative to raise funds and make the university more visible to the public.
The event that took place at Ground Floor, Muhammad Abdul-Rauf Building was attended by IIUM Rector, Prof. Emeritus Tan Sri Dato’ Dzulkifli Abdul Razak.
Also present at the launching were Deputy Rector (Responsible Research and Innovation), Prof. Dr. Ahmad Hafiz Zulkifly, and Executive Director of Finance Division, Datuk Haji Ahmad Zailan Shaari.
The IIUM Special Plate Number is a collaboration with the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and Road Transport Department Malaysia (JPJ). Malaysians, especially those who are associated with IIUM in several aspects. would have the opportunity to own a special plate number
According to the Rector, the initiative is one of the university’s attempt to raise funds, at the same time to make the university visible.
The Rector said: “We are now opening the bidding for all who are interested, particularly those who are associated with the university and also the successful alumni who can help to raise fund for the university.”
“The are many numbers that can be chosen through the bidding and once the person wins the bid, the number will be reserved and the winner can use the number with some procedures with the JPJ,” he added.
Meanwhile, according to Prof. Hafiz, the collaboration between JPJ and MOHE gives another mileage to IIUM in branding the university worldwide and contributes towards research and innovation in IIUM through the fund received.
“This is another historical event for the university and with this launching, the bidding will start on 1 November this year through online platform where everyone can have a look at the numbers offered,” he said.
The launching was carried out through the Office of Deputy Rector Responsible Research and Innovation (ODRRI) and Finance Division.
