Office of ARCOM, Kulliyyah of Languages and Management Students’ Society 20/21 had successfully organized a workshop entitled “Workshop: Arabic Research” on 5th March 2021. The objective of this programme is to guide the students in using the e-library IIUM so they can fully benefit from this service provided by IIUM in discovering information for their research and assignments.

Since this workshop is mainly about guiding students in using the e-library IIUM to find resources in Arabic language, the speaker who was invited for this workshop is a person who is already an expert and adapts with the system which is Sr. Wan Salwati binti Wan Salleh, a senior librarian in IIUM Gombak. The speaker conducted the workshop in two-way communication so it became more interactive and effective for the students. Students also gave the same positive vibe with the speaker as they were very active in answering and responding to the speaker.

During this workshop, there is much valuable information and tips shared by the speaker aside from the e-library IIUM. Some of it are about research websites available on the internet, citing resources using Mendeley and managing and recording resources that have been used as references systematically using Microsoft excel. Hopefully, these tips are able to help them in writing their research better.

In short, this programme managed to run successfully with marvellous participants’ attendance from Gombak and Pagoh campus and achieved its objective to expose the students to the e-library IIUM. We truly appreciate those who were involved directly or indirectly in this workshop. Lastly, we hope that this program will continue and get a more lively response from KLM residents in the future.
