Gombak, 3 October 2021. Experts from different fields agree that the country needs a postgraduate programme on the climate change policy and law to help Malaysia contribute to the resolution of the climate change crisis.

The panellists in the Forum on Climate Change Policy and Law Curriculum suggests that the curriculum of the programme should provide a Malaysian narrative to ensure students have full understanding of the problem and students able to provide unique contribution to the resolution of the crisis.

The curriculum should provide experiential learning components for students to appreciate the arduous task and the skill required in negotiating international agreements regarding climate change.

The programme should also provide students with aspiration, hope and advocacy together with pragmatic views.

The research team under the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union lead by Assoc Prof Dr Maizatun Mustafa convenes the focus group discussion to help develop a curriculum in climate change policy and law.
