Alhamdulillah on 6th February 2020 250 students and teachers from around Pahang  participated in the Malaysian Brain Bee Challenge (MBBC), also known as BrainBee@IIUM organized by the Department of Basic Medical Sciences, Kulliyyah of Medicine.   

BrainBee@IIUM is a neuroscience competition in the form of quizzes with an international championships networking exclusively for secondary school contestants. It is a community-engagement project,  spearheaded by Universiti Sains Malaysia which aims to raise awareness and promote wider understanding of the brain and nervous system. It has attracted 19 other public and private Universities as collaborating partners and Kulliyyah of Medicine is hosting the MBBC 2020 ZONES FINAL event as Zone P. BrainBee@IIUM 2020 will determine the top-3 zone winners who will compete in MBBC 2020 National Grand Final hosted by USM Health Campus in March. The National Champion will then represent Malaysia at the International Brain Bee 2020 in Washington DC, USA on 5th – 8th August 2020.

A workshop on Human Blood Structure and  Function for the accompanying teachers were also conducted concurrently.  Thank you to the Dean, Prof Azmi Md. Nor and Head of BMS department,  Prof Imad Mustafa for the endless support and encouragement. Well done to the committee members and BMS staff members  who made this event possible .
