Services



The services provided by Welfare Management Unit are:

  • KHAIRAT TRUST FUND.
    • Khairat and Financial Assistance
      • To assist students who are in dire need of financial assistance and who face difficulties while they are studying in IIUM. Refer new guideline as attached.
    • B40 Student Database
      • The purpose of this B40 Student database is to detect those who are needy and to assist (whenever possible). In addition to that, once we have the data, it is easy to give when other offices (such as International Office, Alumni, IIUM Endowment Fund and other donors) who request names of the underprivileged students to them. All IIUM students with family household income is less than RM 4,000 may fill up the B40 form and submit to STADD.
    • Student Employment On Campus (SEOC)
      • The objectives of the programme is to open more opportunity to the needy students and students with disabilities to receive financial assistance from the University, to train the students to work in campus (besides the Student Assistantship Programme) and to assist K/C/D/I/O that needs part time students with their work projects for a short term period. SEOC Form, Claim Form.
      • The criteria of student is as below: Needy Students, Student with disabilities, Minimum CGPA should be 2.5 and above.
      • Guidelines: 1) SEOC Letter 2) SOP
  • HANDLING EMERGENCY CASES
    • Sick Students and Hospitalised. Visit Form
    • Coordinate and Manage Death of Student
  • INSURANCE COVERAGE AND CLAIMS (for IIUM students Malaysian and International students).
    • IIUM Malaysian Students - Group Personal Accident (GPA) only:
      • All IIUM Malaysian students are insured under the Group Personal  Accident Insurance by Etiqa General Takaful Berhad. Insurance will be paid to students for cases such as bodily injury and death caused by accidental means. Benefits of coverage as attached.
      • GPA Claim Form
    • IIUM International Students
      • All IIUM International students are insured under Etiqa Family Takaful Berhad and Etiqa General Takaful Berhad. This scheme is compulsory to all international students who are studying in Malaysian University as instructed by Ministry of Education. The benefits of coverage as attached
      • The coverage are:
        1. Group Personal Accident (GPA)
        2. Group Term Life (GTL)
        3. Group Hospital and Surgical (GHS) - Third Party Administrator: Mediexpress (M) Sdn. Bhd.
  • MAHABBAH FOOD PROGRAMME
    Food Coupons for students:
      • 2000 coupons allocated per month (Gombak Campus)
      • Approximately 600 coupons allocated per month (Kuantan Campus)
    • Food Served (Buffet/Packed)
      • IIUM SHAS Mosque (Lunch-Packed food- Monday to Thursday)
      • Student Kitchen Project: Department of Quran & Sunnah Studies, IRKHS under Dr. Sofiah's team (Dinner-Monday until Friday)
  • STUDENT ASSISTANTSHIP PROGRAMME (SAP) & SCHEME OF APPRENTICESHIP FOR GRADUATE ASSISTANTS.
    • Students can obtain information pertaining to part-time employment in the campus through advertisement at K/C/D/I/O.

  • WAQAF TIME
    • The objectives of this programme are to inculcate within IIUM students the concept of Budi (virtue) for ummatic vision, the culture of ‘waqaf’ among our students.  Not only ‘waqaf’ in terms of material but also ‘waqaf’ in terms of time, energy and expertise; and to produce IIUM students with holistic or versatile personality.
