Expert Profile
Dr. Nur Affah has extensive experience lecturing, supervising, researching, and developing programmes within the Quantity Survey and Construction Management field. She is the Head of the Technology Transfer Office, Research Management Center.
Dr Nur Affah is now leading a research project on the economic sustainability of elderly care centres. She has supervised several postgraduate and undergraduate students on various research topics but mostly related to her research interests: Construction Management, Human Resource Management, and Ethics in Construction. She is a Sustainable Facilities Management Research Group member and has experience as the Associate Editor of the Journal of Architecture, Planning and Construction Management.
In 2018, she was attached to the CIMB group as a Fellow CEO@Faculty Programme 2.0, where she worked at CIMB Group Human Resources and CIMB Foundation. She has previously held administrative and academic leadership positions, including Head of the Quantity Surveying Department, Member of the Academic Board, Academic Advisor, Practical Training Coordinator, and Dissertation Coordinator. She leads the development and review of the Bachelor of Quantity Surveying programme and is also a Member of the Master of Construction Business programme review.
She has taught several courses such as Principles of Measurement for Building Works, Principles of Estimating for Building Works, Construction Business, Strategic Management of Construction Business, Integrated Multidisciplinary Project, and Research Method for the Built Environment. She is also actively involved with community engagement programmes, among others, CIMB Mozek, Young ASEAN Leaders, Be$mart Financial Literacy Programme, LIGHT Leadership Enrichment Initiatives Programme, It’s My Turn Project: Nursing Home Visits, and Angkat 1.0 iCSR project that involved building a house for Orang Asli.
