IIUM has participated in this tournament with 2 teams. Both IIUM teams made its way to the semi-final rounds of the ESL Category as they were ranked among the top 8 teams in the category with IIUM B reaching the Grand Final (ESL Category) of the competition.The programme was held at the University of Oxford on 8-10 November 2018. 

In the ESL Grand Final, the IIUM Team B opposed the motion that social movements should reject the glorification of political violence.

Other finalist teams were Zagreb A, Pannenkoeken me Hagestag and Helsinki A in which Zagreb A came out as the winner.

IIUM Team A consisted of Shitab Daiyan Akash (KENMS) and Mohd Hilmy Yazid (AIKOL), whereas Khalis Khalid (AIKOL) and Irtza Ali Soomro (AIKOL) comprised IIUM Team B.

IIUM debater Mohd Hilmy Yazid and Shitab Daiyan Akash respectively received 6^th and 7^th Best Speaker of the ESL Category.
