ANNOUNCEMENT

IIUM RESEARCH ACCULTURATION GRANT SCHEME (IRAGS) 2018 APPLICATION – DEADLINE (26TH NOVEMBER 2018 / MONDAY)

 

Assalamu 'alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

Dear Prof./ Assoc. Prof. / Dr. / Sir / Mdm,

 

We wish to announce that the IIUM RESEARCH ACCULTURATION GRANT SCHEME (IRAGS) 2018 is now opened from5TH OCTOBER 2018 / MONDAY until 26TH NOVEMBER 2018 / MONDAY.

 

Interested researchers are kindly invited to apply for this grant via the Research Management System Version 2 (RMSV2) accessible at rmsv2.iium.edu.my (no hard copies will be accepted).  Please login using your valid HURIS username and password.  Attached are the manual for Online Research Grant Application Module and IIUM Research Acculturation Grant Scheme Guidelines and Procedures 2018 for your reference

 

1. RESEARCH AREAS

Areas of research for the IIUM Research Acculturation Grant Scheme 2018 are:

a.         Pure and Applied Science

b.         Technology and Engineering

c.         Clinical and Health Sciences

d.         Social Sciences and Humanities

e.         Arts and Applied Arts

f.          Natural Sciences and National Heritage

 

2. DURATION OF PROJECT

Research projects shall be completed within 24 months from the commencement date with up to 1 year extension (subject to a good progress report).

 

3. ELIGIBILITY

a. Only ONE application per staff. A minimum of one (1) co-researcher is required.

b. Open to ALL young academic staff who obtained PhDs within the past SIX (6) years;

Note : Staff who completed Clinical Master’s within the past 6 years may be considered.

c. The applicant is not on study leave;

d. The budget is appropriate and meets the objectives of the grant.

e. Priority will be given to those who have  :

    i)  applied for national grants in the past 6 years;

   ii) never been a Principal Investigator.

 

4. BUDGET

The budget is RM 20,000.00 for both Non- Science and Technology and Science and Technology.

* All publication and related costs are to be borne by this grant.

* Conferences are not supported by this grant unless the outputs have been produced and there is surplus money to support that conference and subject to the approval of the University.

5. REQUIRED OUTPUT OF RESEARCH

a. Researchers are required to generate (complete with evidence), within the expected 24-month research duration,0.003 MyRA mark.   The calculation of marks is based on the following table :

For example  :

2 indexed journals x 0.0015 = 0.003; OR

3 non-indexed journals x 0.0010 = 0.003;


OR any combination of the above to achieve the 0.003 MyRA mark.

 

b. Researchers should acknowledge all fellow research collaborators (minimum 1 active academic) and all sources of funding openly in any publication or publicity.
